Selah
Personal lettering · Vector mark
Selah is one of the simplest projects in this portfolio, and honestly one of the ones I like the most. It started on the back of a notebook with a ruler and basic shapes. No client brief, no strategy deck, no big hidden concept. I just wanted to draw the word.
I brought the drawing into Illustrator and rebuilt it as clean vector artwork, keeping the geometry and rhythm that came out of the original. That was the whole exercise: make something by hand, then refine it until it could function as a real mark.
What makes Selah worth showing is what happened afterward. I kept using it. It has been turned into shirts, decals, keychain charms, caps, and other physical pieces. A drawing on the back of a notebook became artwork I could reproduce again and again in completely different materials.
There is no complicated rationale to manufacture here. I love the way it looks, and years later I still want to put it on things. Sometimes that is enough.
